Why is it important to prioritise staff wellbeing?

'Prioritising staff wellbeing in schools is essential for fostering a positive teaching environment. When teachers are mentally and physically well, they serve as role models for students and deliver high-quality education.'

How can we use staff voice to inform our wellbeing strategy?

'By actively involving staff in the development and implementation of a wellbeing strategy, schools can create initiatives that are responsive to the actual needs and concerns of their educators, fostering a sense of ownership and investment in the process.'

“You can’t pour from an empty cup”
Positive staff wellbeing is essential for cultivating a school that promotes Mental Health and wellbeing, for retaining and motivating staff and for promoting pupil wellbeing and attainment. In addition to having a positive impact on colleagues and children, staff wellbeing can improve performance and job satisfaction, which can lead to reduced staff turnover. It can also help to reduce absence (both short and long term), increase productivity and promote staff engagement resulting in a flourishing school environment.

The "Blob Tree" Psycho-Emotional Test

The famous Blob Tree test created by behavioural psychologist Pip Wilson, who is a psycho-educational gamester and EQ developer. This test helps us to recognise and strengthen emotions. Each blob figure in this picture is in a different mood and has a different position on the tree.
